Sir/Madam,
We are pleased to inform you that
the Department of Posts is conducting various
activities for school children to generate interest in philately/My
Stamp among the children such as stamp design competition, Letter writing
competition, Essay writing competition etc. Recently a contest has been
conducted for designing of logo for India Post Payment Bank and designs a stamp
competition. The Department of Posts is a Government operated postal system in
India with the largest postal network in the world with over 1,54,882 Post
Offices. For more than 150 years, the Department of Posts has been the backbone
of country’s communication and has played a crucial role in the country’s socio
economic development by touching the lives of the Indian citizens in many ways by delivering
mails, accepting deposits under Small Savings Schemes, providing life insurance
cover under Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI)
and providing retail services like bill collection, sale of forms, etc. On 04.09.2016, an exhibition of philately
stamps will be conducted. In this exhibition, philately stamps will be
exhibited and available for sale. Further it is proposed to conduct a contest
for school children for promoting the king of hobbies (Philately) involving intelligent
study of postage stamps especially My Stamp which is popular product in recent
years in which the concerned student will get stamp with his own photo. Hence
the contest is conducted for the students who are willing to get My Stamps. It is
therefore requested to ensure that the best possible entries are sent to the
undersigned to conduct the exam successfully.
The competition would
be organized in two categories Juniors (4th
class to 7th class) and Seniors
(8th class to 10th
class). The details are enclosed including the subject, conditions, prize
money, and application form. Kindly forward the entries to the undersigned on

RULES FOR PARTICIPANTS
1.
The competitive exam
shall be open to school going children up to 15 years of age as on 31.08.2016
2.
The entry fee for
each participant is Rs.300/-
3.
The age of
participants is to be certified by the school authorities where the participant
is studying
4.
Date by which the
participant should declare their intention to participate in the competition
(last date) along with the entry fee : 01.09.2016
5.

The participants will
make their own arrangements to reach the venue of the competition.

The participants will
apply for participation in the competition in the enclosed Proforma. All the
applicants are requested to submit extra photograph along with the application
duly attested by the Principal of the school.
8.
Prizes
a.
One first prize (Rs.
2500/- worth) in two categories and appreciation certificate
b.
One second prize (Rs.
1500/- worth) in two categories and appreciation certificate
c.
One third prize (Rs.
1000/- worth) in two categories and
appreciation certificate
d.
All the participants
will be given a consolation prize

Exam will be
conducted in Telugu and English Languages
